Darkness Retreat

Sharing the deep medicine of being with oneself. In clearing practices, there is an instruction we sometimes use: "Be without leaving yourself." This time together will be just this: an opportunity to be with ourselves without leaving, to hold ourselves, to welcome ourselves without judgment (and where there is judgment, to practice self-acceptance), knowing we will be honored in a sacredly held container. Using blindfolds to simulate a darkroom, each of us will have the opportunity to experience what is here, now, and to cultivate the sanctuary that lies within. We will begin gently with a titrated experience, move into a longer journey, and finish with gentle movement, intuitive somatic practices, journaling and space holding, closing with a light meal together.

What to bring

Journals are provided, but feel free to bring your own along with a pen. Wear comfortable clothing you can sit, stand or lie down in, bring a spill-proof water bottle, and bring anything you'd like in your meditation space to honor you and your experience.

Your facilitators

Beth Stone is deeply devoted to the practice and philosophy of yoga and meditation, seeking to embody their timeless principles in everyday life. A lifelong student and teacher, she continues to explore diverse contemplative traditions with curiosity and humility, and creates inclusive, supportive spaces where each person can reconnect with their true nature. Bri Tampa has over 20 years exploring the potential of expanded states of consciousness. She is a psychedelic therapist licensed as an MHC-RI, holds an MA in Clinical Mental Health, and has trained with Grof Legacy, Polaris Insight, TAM Integration, Zendo Project and the Center for Applied Jungian Studies. She has led university research and taught over 3,000 meditation and emotional awareness classes to public school children.
